"“I am in my second year at Teesside and really enjoying it. The main reason I became a School Rep was because I wanted to be able to help improve mine and fellow students' experience at university, also it is a great way to meet new people who I may not have crossed paths with if I hadn't become a School Rep. I have learnt a great deal from the role and the people I have met which has enhanced my personal experience. In my spare time I enjoy keeping myself fit by playing a variety of sports and going to the gym.”"

Paul Hartnett

"I enjoyed my role as a Course Representative so when a School Rep position came up I was keen to apply. I got the position of School Rep and I’m really looking forward to taking an active role in ensuring the student voice is heard and supporting students within my school. I’m really enjoying my course and want to make sure this is the case for all other students, so if you have any concerns or questions don’t hesitate to get in touch!"

Jasper Dausoni

"I’m in my final year at Teesside University, studying Law, and wanted to get more involved with the Students’ Union. Being a School Rep is a great opportunity to get the student voice heard and support others and I’ve made some great new friends. I've also found that my confidence has grown because of the role due to all the presentations and stalls we do. In my spare time I like writing and recording music and watching sports. Get in touch to let us know how your time at University is going and if you’re facing any problems!"

Achievements

- Reps attended the Law Library Liaison Committee and raised the issue of the Law book stock being low and shelves being empty during assessment periods. Staff have agreed to buy more reference books for the 2011/12 academic year that shall be left in the Library to prevent this from happening in the future.

- The Reps have made sure that all Psychology students are now enrolled on the Psychology support site within the school.

- All Post-Graduate modules are now on Blackboard, which was not the case at the beginning of the year.

- Following the Rep's actions, there are now ongoing meetings between the School and Library Liason Committee regarding the Law book stock.
