"Im now in my second year at Teesside University and wanted to get involved in University life and make my time here worthwhile. Being a School Rep has given me the opportunity to create a positive experience for other students and voice any issues or concerns. I have also met lots of new friends from around the University. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends, going to the cinema and travelling. Get in touch to share your experiences of life at Teesside University and dont hesitate to contact us with any problems or queries!"

Blessing Maupa

"I am a very keen, dynamic and self-motivated young man who enjoys working in teams with enthusiasm and the ability to make my own decisions without supervision. I felt that being a school representative provides me with the right platform to become more involved with the university, representing students' voices to bring necessary changes to make Teesside University a better place to be and a highly competitive tertiary education institution."

This is my second year being a School Rep, I decided to continue with the role as it is something that I have enjoyed doing. Being a School Rep has allowed me to get involved in the University, meet new people, help fellow students and make positive changes for both current and future students. I am in my third and final year at Teesside now and I feel that being a School Rep has definitely made my time here more enjoyable and would highly recommend it to anyone considering doing it.

Achievements

- School Reps have dealt with a number of course specific issues including: the late return of assignments from tutors, seminar group sizes and timetabling issues.

- Due to the input of School Reps, some of the computers available in the social area of the Business School are now time limited to 30 minutes.

- Your School Reps also raised issues regarding the misallocation of students to Blackboard modules. This has now been resolved.

- Due to school rep input, a booklet is being produced to assist second years in preparation for their third year projects/dissertations.
