"I have been a course representative for the past two years and this will be my first year as a school representative. I enjoy meeting new people and always like taking on new challenges. I look forward to working alongside other representatives, students and staff to help promote improvements within the school, and the rest of the university. In my spare time I enjoy socialising with my friends, going shopping and to the gym."

Julie Cummins

"Hi this is my second year as a School Rep and I have really enjoyed the role with a lot of laughs along the way. I’ve made some really good friends who have supported me throughout my student experience and I want to continue to do the same for my fellow students. Being a School Rep has given me the opportunity to create a positive experience for other students. We meet with students, course reps and academic staff regularly to make sure the student voice is heard and changes are made. I am looking forward to working with our new extended team this year to support and represent you so if you have any problems, need some info or just want to have a chat and share your experiences of university life please get in touch. I look forward to meeting you."

Emma Elliott

"This is my 2nd year on the school representative team within the School of Health and Social Care, so have experience of helping people with a variety of queries about their learning and teaching experience. I’d like the chance to meet and have a chat with students from all the professions training in the SOHSC. On a personal note I enjoy reading, listening to a wide range of music, going to the cinema, socialising with my friends, holidays, walking – if there’s a nice pub en route, trying to grow veggies in my garden (hints and tips gratefully received) and cooking."

Lynn Lambert

"I'm in my second year at Teesside University and after being a Course Rep in my first year decided I wanted to become a School Rep to offer support to others and give students a voice. In my spare time I like to be with my family, I enjoy reading and quizzes. Feel free to contact me to let us know if uni is going well for you and if you are having any problems!"

Matt O’Grady

"Hi, my name is Matt, I am in my fourth year at Teesside University. I have previously been a course rep during my time at Teesside and truly enjoyed the position, I wanted to further my role and get more involved with the Students’ Union. Being a course rep has been a great experience and I hope to bring my experiences to representing the School of Health and working hard to make sure all students are happy and have their voices heard. I have previously been involved in a variety of sports teams at the University and I look forward to supporting others and making everyone find what it is they love about the University. In my spare time I love hiking, going to the gym and am a big Rugby fan! please get in touch to let us know how your time at University is going and if you’re facing any problems as we are here for you!"

Natalie Davison

"I have really enjoyed the past 2 years here at Teesside University and I feel that the past school Reps have played a part in this, I wanted to become a School Rep so that I could give something back and become part of an amazing team and I'm overjoyed that I have been given the opportunity to be part of that team and to get the student voice heard. Like your other Reps I'm very friendly and easy to talk to so do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any queries, or even just to say hello."

Achievements

- The Social work cohort has now been confirmed as registered with the University to receive their bursaries.

- The reps liased with library staff to arrange for essential books that were unavailable in the library to be purchased for students.

- Your HSC School Reps are currently working a project to look at increasing the Library opening hours during the Summer period to ensure that you have more access to the Library outside of the traditional term time structure as many Health & Social Care students study outside of these.

- An issue raised regarding NHS fees for international students has been raised via the School Reps and is currently being investigated
