Teesside International Society

The International Student Society works in close contact with Teesside University Student Union to ensure that all international and home students enjoy their time at the university in their academic and social lives. We focus on issues in the community: Mental Health, Career Planning, Safe fun and shining light on issues such as alcohol abuse and sexual harassment. 



Provide a safe environment for international students to focus on wellbeing and mental health away from home that also focuses on self-growth and career development.



Society Aims:


  • Guidance to local surrounding and British culture to new arrivals.
  • A regular Meeting point (every Thursday) to socials and ask for advice regarding any issue.
  • Career Development session. Tailored for international students.
  • Guest speaker: Mindfulness and Growing Entrepreneurial Skills.
  • Achieve Minimum of 6 Stripes.
  • Perks:
    • 7 – trips confirmed: one trip per month.
    • Blitz trips: Robinhood bay, countryside, picnic, Roseberry toppings, gardening, crafts. 
    • 1 – Ballroom event: charity event (TBC)
    • 2x 4 weeks Make It Count sessions
    • 10% off SU bar and food.







The society is made up of both international and home students, we will try our best to answer questions, provide advice and/or point you in the right direction for support. 

As a society we aim to ensure that students have fun on the University campus as well as off campus, organising trips, and hosting events to help students socialise and feel at home.   

As a society, we want to know what you would like to do, where you would like to visit and what we can do to make sure you make the most of your stay at Teesside University.
