Do you want to help make a difference in your SU?
As a member of the facilities and events security team, you will be tasked with ensuring that safety inside the venue is of the highest level, using the correct policies and procedures and customer care for the 5000-plus people using the facilities each week. You will help set up and run our events calendar, which includes student events and our ever-growing external hire events. You should expect to be setting up events, securing entrances and exits, assisting with the smooth running of a wide variety of events and activities, and cleaning up after they have finished.
You will be crucial in providing a safe and secure environment within the Students’ Union building and at Students’ Union events. You will also provide exceptional customer care to our customers, ensure the venue is a friendly and welcoming place to visit and deal with customers who don’t follow the venue's house rules.
Within your position there is an opportunity to receive the relevant training to become an SIA licensed door supervisor, this will be judged on an individual basis and offered to you if deemed appropriate.
This recruitment is for people who are available to work over the summer, if you can't work the summer don't worry just keep an eye out for further recruitment closer to September! We need hardworking practical people with bags of enthusiasm who want to get on and ensure that the Students’ Union is the best venue in the area. We hold a range of awards for the quality and safety of our venues, and you will be required to help us maintain and improve on the standards we currently work to!
