Code of Conduct for Society Members
• Adhere to the Constitution, Bylaws and policies of Teesside University Students’ Union, including the Equality and Diversity Policy.
• Behave while participating in a society to demonstrate the values of the Students’ Union: Safe, Friendly, Helpful, Fun, Open-Minded and Democratic.
• Ensure all members feel welcome to participate in discussions, activities, services or events and not act in a way to cause fear, threats, intimidation, harassment, judgment or unwelcoming conditions.
• Do not pressure others to take part in events that are or could be perceived as initiation ceremonies or otherwise, where alcohol is consumed irresponsibly.
• Act responsibly at all times when participating in activities and to avoid actions which could bring the group, the Students’ Union, University or partners into disrepute. Conduct yourself in a reasonable manner relating to language, noise and behaviour and be aware of how others may perceive your actions.
• Only promote society activity and interests to members and not push individual Political or Religious beliefs or any outside monetised activity that is detrimental to the Society, Students' Union and University.
• Not use social media in a manner that may be considered as bullying or harassment, showing a lack of respect and/or reasonable consideration towards other society members or bringing the University and/or the Students’ Union into disrepute
• Make the Students’ Union aware of any physical health, mental health or disability condition which may impact on your ability to participate in activities without a reasonable adjustment.

Failure to abide by this Code of Conduct may lead to suspension from participation in society activities and referral to the Students’ Union Disciplinary Regulations.
