Advertising and Sponsorship Rates 2025/26
TUSU offers unrivalled opportunities to promote products and services to the thousands of students at Teesside University, click here for details of all our opportunities and detailed information on the demographics of our student bodv. We can provide advertising packages to suit any budget and most requirements, with options ranging from exhibition space or distributing promotional material in our building through to social media and plasma campaigns.
PLEASE NOTE: Prices quoted below apply to the vast majority of potential clients but depending on the specific nature of your business/ service and its proximity to the TUSU Building we reserve the right to apply higher charges and different conditions e.g. bars, night clubs, gyms, accommodation providers and national agencies making multiple bookings for clients.
We also reserve the right to decline advertising services to any individual or organisation if it would be contrary to our policies and ethos. We will always offer a full written explanation if we decline your request for advertising.
TUSU regularly attracts over 7,000 visitors a day, the majority of whom are current students wanting to utilise our various services and social spaces. We offer exhibition space throughout the academic year in high footfall areas of the first floor of the building, it's an unrivalled opportunity to promote your services, capture data (subject to permission from us) and even sell products (subject to permission from us).
We can offer significant discounts to clients who book a series of dates at the same time, so contact us if you wish to discuss a block booking.

As well as the direct contact that comes from exhibition space at our fairs, you can also take advantage of a range of physical and digital mediums to promote your services to students. This can be booked as part of a package, also including exhibition space, or separately from/ in place of a space in the SU Building.
Events
Your brand associated with our events

- We will include your ad in printed summaries of our major day and evening events.
- Printed copies are distributed in the TUSU Building and to students across campus and in Halls of Residence.
- Large-scale versions are also displayed in high footfall areas of the TUSU Building.
- The planner/ events listing will also be shared across our social media and in monthly email updates sent to all subscribed students (Usually over 40,000).
- A popular and high retention printed publication and digital download with students from a range of backgrounds.
- The size and position of your ad will be confirmed after expression of interest; we are reworking our events planner/ listings for 2025/26, so past examples will not be applicable.
Digital Media
Plasma Screen Advertising
From £70 per week + V.A.T.
- Your ad is shown regularly on landscape screens in high footfall areas of the building, with the option to update your message regularly.
- AND ... we are proud to work with Redbus media to offer additional opportunities for advertising on larger portrait screens, ask us about booking with them as well as with us.
Social media Advertising
From £40 per week + V.A.T.
- Contact us to discuss generous discounts for longer-term packages through Semester 2
- We have over 30,000 followers across our various social media accounts, many of whom are prospective or current students. A cheap but often effective way to create viral interest in your service and organisation.
- You'll receive 2 x updates per week (from text and creatives supplied by yourself) throughout your booking on the main TUSU Facebook and Instagram.
Posters & flyers
TUSU offers limited space for A2 and A3 posters. We can also either distribute/display flyers and promo items or allow your reps to do so in the SU Building.We can offer great value rates for longer periods, displaying posters or distributing flyers/promo items. Contact us to discuss this.

Emails and ad in student updates
The SU can offer limited opportunities for clients to send a stand-alone e-mail to all students on our mail base, and we can also offer you the chance to include an ad in our monthly newsletter. We have a commitment to limit the number of commercial messages our members receive, so we would usually only allow you to send one e-mail a year, but you are welcome to discuss a package to be included in all editions of the newsletter sent out in 2025/26. E-mails go out to all current students, and this can rise to over 22,000 as the academic year progresses. We provide specific details of how many students receive your email afterwards.

- tees-su.org.uk has space for large scrolling banner ads or fixed tiles linking out to your website. We recommend that your ad is on the home page or other high-traffic sections (we are more than happy to supply detailed analytics).
- These include jobs, events or freshers’ sections, but you are welcome to discuss other sections you may wish to place your ad.

Scrolling banner ad on the home page

- Your ad will display for 10 seconds and can link back to a link of your choice. The number of times your ad will display will depend on how many ads are to be shown.
Associate with TUSU Commercial Services
We have brand new opportunities this year to advertise on items our commercial services, like The Terrace Bar and Restaurant and TUSU Shop, distribute to their customers every day that they are open and trading through the academic year. Selected clients (we would not be able to accept bookings for these from obvious competitors for the same trade but will advise you if the opportunity is not open to you when you enquire.)
ASSOCIATE YOUR BRAND WITH TUSU COMMERCIAL SERVICES
- You can have your logo and a tagline/ web or social link of your choice included in the TUSU-branded travel mugs we distribute when students purchase hot drinks from our commercial services.
- You can have an ad of your choice (size TBA) included in the printed and digital version of our main food menu, displayed and distributed in The Terrace Bar and Restaurant, which often attracts over 2,000 visitors a day.
- You can have flyers or other printed/ promotional items displayed in the TUSU Shop and The Terrace Bar and Restaurant at a discounted rate to our usual general charges for distribution/ display of flyers and promotional items.
PLEASE NOTE: We would require a 12-month commitment minimum for the opportunities to advertise on travel mugs and food menus, and the booking/ your advertising artwork will need to have been confirmed by the end of July 2025. Prices vary and are negotiable. Contact us to discuss these unique opportunities.

We can offer clients with a bigger budget or specific requirements the opportunity to mix, match and enhance their advertising and sponsorship packages. This could include the sponsorship of large ongoing events such as our Monday Night Quiz or big stand-alone occasions such as our end-of-year student awards or Graduation Week. Packages start from as little as £50 and can be tailored to suit your organisation's specific budget and requirements. Please ask for more info on what will be available in 2025/26.
