Teesside University and our Students’ Union are proud to be hosting our first ever Pride event on the 30th of June, at our Middlesbrough campus.
This is an historical moment for Teesside University. We are already known for the incredible Rainbow Rounders events we hosted which brought together high-profile organisations including Cleveland Police, Cleveland Fire Brigade and Hart Gables.
And now we have been given recognition across the North-East and Scotland for hosting our first ever Pride event.
We have a jam packed day full of loads of different activities and hope to see you there!!
WHAT'S ON? Here's an itinernary of the day.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Meet us in the Campus Heart for our wellbeing walk
This walk will be led by Brengle, the fabulous and friendly therapy dog with their owner Naomi and Cleveland Police will be accompanying our Yes to Respect Campaign.
12:00 PM - 3:00 PM Pride Stalls
To kick off our event we have some fantastic stalls including Queer Base, Book Wyrm, Cleveland Police, Take Pride Shop, Phoenix Support Group & Queer Film Club, Hart Gables, Thalia and Bea Jewellers, Art business, Barefoot Kitchens, University stalls such as the LGBTQ+ focus groups, Library and other student services and so much more!!
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM Literary Hour
With a video message from singer Skin from Skunk Anansie and a video reading from our competition winner Allison.

2:30 PM – 3:25 PM Queer Yoga: Mindful Movement Session
Queer Yoga North, Kaite will be holding two 50 minute yoga sessions.
There are only 16 spaces available for each session.

3:40 PM – 4:30 PM Queer Yoga: Breathing and Meditation Session
A chill out and relaxation session for some meaningful time out.

5:00 PM – 5:45 PM Jade Mia Broadhead Live Music
A live singing performance from Jade Mia Broadhead
6:00 PM – 6:45 PM SPECTRUM workshop: DJ and Deck mixing
DJ Abby Harris will be showing people how to mix decks and DJ music
Special Guest, Ellie Lowther will be attending. Ellie is the founder of Trans Aware which offers diversity training and consultancy around the UK, and she also has a long-running radio show every Sunday on Community Voice FM.
