We're excited to announce that our Indian society has planned a Holi event on the 8th of March 2020 from 1pm-4pm here at our Students' Union. Holi is an Indian festival of colours. The vibrancy of colours is something that brings in a lot of positivity in our lives and Holi being the festival of colours is actually a day worth rejoicing, People celebrate by playing with powdered colours called Gulals and dance on the beats of Holi songs and popular folk music.
In addition to India and Nepal, the festival is celebrated by Indian subcontinent diaspora in countries such as Jamaica, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, South Africa, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Mauritus and Fiji. In recent years the festival has spread to parts of Europe and North America as a spring celebration of love, frolic , and colours.
The event is aiming to provide a great celebration to all Teesside University students and will provide free welcome non-alcoholic drinks, complimentary colours to all the event attenders with unlimited DJ.
Registration opens at 12noon.
Event starts at 1pm.
Event finishes at 4pm.
Ticket price: £5 per person.
Please collect your ticket from the SU welcome anytime between 10am and 4pm from Monday to Friday.
