The Tyne Tour - first weekend in November.

The Tyne Tour is Europe's largest mass participation canoeing event, brought to you by Hexham Canoe Club and friends from other canoe clubs in the beautiful north east of England.

Paddlers from across the country descend upon Hexham for the Weekend as they enjoy stretches of river ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 4, culminating in a ceilidh hosted on Tyne Green on the Saturday night.

During the weekend there are trade stands available to purchase any necessary kit and receive advice, outside of the Tyne Tour the Hexham Bonfire and Fireworks occurs on the Saturday Evening before the Ceilidh.

On the Sunday we will pack up and head somewhere else to have another day of paddling with our coaches. 

 

If you need any camping gear ie, tents, sleeping bags and roll mats. We can provide them for you, just let the commitee know. 

 

Cost is £60, this will cover the: 

Fuel cost

Hire vehicle cost

Coaching cost for 2 days of paddling 

Your Tyne tour ticket which includes, your camping, river access, soup and roll after paddling on the Saturday and your ceilidh ticket. 

 

Dont dress to impress, dress to be warm :) 

 

Please bring food for the weekend and lots of snacks we will be stopping at the local Supermarket in Hexham if needed. 

 

There are places to eat out and get takeaway and we will be keeping the tradition of heading to the local spoons on the Friday night, feel free to join us or have the true camping experience with cooking stoves that we can provide. 

 

We will leave the University as soon as everyone finishes uni on the 1st November
