The Indian Society has organised a second trip to visit the largest functioning Hindu temple in the UK after its successful visit in November 2024. 

Open to the general public since 2006. Located in Tividale, West Midlands, England. Venkateswara is the primary deity worshiped at this temple, a well-known manifestation of Vishnu. Within the main temple complex are also shrines to his consort Padmavati(Alamelu). The temple also houses shrines to other major Hindu deities, including Hanuman, Shiva, Karthikeya, Ganesh, Ayappan and the Navagraha. Seven hills on the site are to show respect to seven major faiths and to reflect the seven peaks in Tirupati Temple.

This is a fantastic opportunity to see the temple, for just £26.00 return ticket. This is the cheapest way you can visit the temple from Middlesbrough, as it can cost as much as £100 on the train to get down there.

The Indian Society is responsible for the organisation of this trip and no SU staff or Trip Volunteers will be present.

The Bus will leave from Woodlands Road adjacent to Car Park in front of Pheonix Building at 7.00 AM.

Check-in from 06:45 AM.

Arrive 11:00 AM The Shri Venkateswara (Balaji) Temple, Dudley Road E, Tividale, Oldbury B69 3DU

Return from The Shri Venkateswara (Balaji) Temple at 5 PM.

Check-in from 16:45 PM.

Arrive back in Middlesbrough approximately 21:00 PM.

Terms and Conditions

Tickets are not transferable.

No refunds are given on trip / coach tickets after sale of ticket closure the day before departure (normally 5 PM) unless otherwise stated.

For this trip ticket sales will close on Friday 28th March at 5 PM.

No refunds are given on coach and entry tickets after last date of sale.

Please be responsible and considerate of others traveling by being on time at departure points.

Please stow luggage or personal proprty safely to prevent fall and trip hazzards.

Do not stand or move about while coach is in motion.

Do not distract or block drivers views.

You must be at departure points at the check-in time published.

Coach will depart on time from campus and will not be held back for late arriving students.

Coach will depart destination on time and TUSU is not responsible for getting late students’ home or paying their costs of getting home.

TUSU is not responsible for recovering property left on the coach or for compensation for property left on coach or property stolen by theft or robbery.

Tourist destination are known to have a higher crime rate. Please keep personal property insight, and valubles out of sight.

Students must wear appropriate clothing for the weather and destination.

You should either take food and drink with you or have sufficient funds to purchase.
