Holli Festival Trip - Baltic Gateshead
Taking place throughout the building, you can enjoy exhibition tours and join contemporary artists exploring rangoli. The artists will create a large-scale, evolving rangoli and you are invited to make your own rangoli to take home.
The event will culminate in a colourful explosion, where you can throw powder pigment and celebrate the arrival of spring with family and friends. The colour throwing is fun and messy, so please wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.
Usually celebrated in March, Holi is a Hindu festival that celebrates spring, love, and new life. This event is for everyone – people of all faiths and those with none.
Buses will leave the Athena Building at 10:30. You will need to have your student TUSC card and a copy of the ticket (paper or on mobile). Family members travelling as a guest must be over 18 and accompanied by a travelling society member.
Please be at Athena at 10:15. Due to the large number travelling, we need to organise travellers into right number for each bus so the buses can leave promptly at 10:30.
Buses will leave from the driver advised pick-up point for the return to Middlesbrough at 5 PM.
PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST CHANGE INTO CLEAN CLOTHES AND WASH OFF ALL PAINT BEFORE BOARDING THE RETURN BUS.
Please travel back on the same bus you travelled to the event. Please return to the pick-up point at 04:55 to allow for a prompt return departure.
Entry to the event is free but please have money for food and drink or bring with you.
Please have the SafeZone app downloaded on your phone.
Please organise yourselves into small friendship groups with each other's mobile numbers. If there are any issues use your SafeZone app to call Teesside University Security.
